Finally the long awaited Spider-man mods are done!!! We have
recreated them to be thinner and have open windows. The windows
have a thin sheet of clear acetate paper over them to give a
more realistic glass look. Each Building is hand made to order.
No going to the toys store and reselling here. We mold and pour
all of our mods. Then hand airbrush and paint each of them.
Originally we had planned on putting a light mod kit in the
buildings. We made the buildings thinner to allow room for a
“light mod kit” to be added. However after we had created the
buildings we ran into a problem. There is room in the buildings
for LED’s to fit but running the wire to the power source came
to be problematic.
The reason for this problem is how the buildings are mounted
to the game. You can see in the video exactly how they are
installed, but to sum it up, you slide the nylon spacers between
the wire ramp and the cabinet wall. They are really easy to
remove and install. The buildings are not bracketed to the
playfield in any way and have small pieces of Velcro to secure
them from any possible movement. They hold very secure in the
game even with tilting the game and a shaker motor.
The wires for the lights can slide under the plastics and
attach to any GI source, but if you do this you would have to
add a splitter to the wire inside the building. This way when
you need to get under the playfield you can lift the buildings
up and disconnect the power to each of them. Then to reconnect,
you plug in the power to each building and then slide each
building back into place. This seemed as if the removal for the
customer would be a headache if it had to be done often.
It takes about 15 seconds to remove the buildings and about
the same to reinstall. If we were to make a bracket to mount
them to the playfield we would have to recreate the buildings
again because they would get damaged when you lift the playfield
up and down as they sit up against the wall. Besides, they
looked really great with just the current playfield light
shinning through the clear windows.
However if there is anyone who is able to make a light kit
that will work and solve this problem I will promote it for you
100%. I will add it to my website and have all the sales go
directly to you. That’s right, all the sales will go to “you”. I
want no money from it, I will simple be helping out a fellow
pinhead who was able to come through making a kit when we could
not. I am open for any deal if someone is able to come up with a
way to make this work. Unfortunately I am not able to dedicate
and more time to developing this light mod. If you are
interested in working something out please contact me at:

We feel that our Spider-man mods are a great example of the
custom work we do here at Back Alley Creations. We stand behind
all of our products and feel that we make a great product that
we hope everyone will love. Thanks to everyone for your patience
while we recreated the new buildings.
